Malaysia Truly Asia.

"Malaysia truly Asia", tag line of TOURISM MALAYSIA, I always used to see adverts on t.v. and was very much fascinated. I wished if I could go for a trip to this country. It was summers in year 2006 when me and my parents planned to visit Malaysia for a short holiday. My excitement for this trip was touching the sky as this was my first international trip. There was a special kind of feeling which is difficult to explain in words.

Malaysia is a very small country located south of Thailand. Despite of being small, country is well advanced technologically, politically and economically. I stayed in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. It is generally called as KL. Hotel Grand Continental, where I was accommodated (picture above), is one of the biggest hotels in KL with 20 floors and more than 200 rooms. It is located in the centre of the city. My decent suggestion to people to stay in this hotel during the trip, little expensive though.

The most famous in the world, the Petronas Towers (also known as the Petronas Twin Towers or, rather incorrectly, KLCC) are skyscrapers and twin towers in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia. They were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 until surpassed by Taipei 101, but remain the tallest twin buildings in the world. The building is the landmark of Kuala Lumpur with nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower. It is nice to see Petronas Towers both in day time and night time when the light makes it look more beautiful.

Harley Davidson, which was parked in front of my hotel. I saw this bike first time live in front of my eyes. Awesome bike it is, I was wondering how lucky the owner would have been to own such a powerful bike.

As there is plenty of population of Hindus in Malaysia, having a Hindu temple is a pretty obvious thing. Hindu temple in Malaysia is built inside mountains has numerous caves in it. Just in front of the temple there is huge sculpture of Lord Shiva in golden colour. It is not made up of gold, it is just the colour. To enter into the temple, one has to climb 270 steps and then has to pass from a cave. Climbing 270 steps is little depressing for elderly people or people with disabilities. They don't have any provision for people who can't climb up the stairs.   Even my Dad was not able to climb up and stayed outside, when me and my mom entered inside. Inside the temple, it is lit up by the natural light coming from the gaps between the caves. If you are lucky enough, you can also see some live singers and artists singing melodious songs with mridangs, which are very soothing.
GENTING highlands, located on a top of the mountain peak in malaysia, is a different world in itself. It is good to stay for  2 days max. to see the whole Genting world. There is a very big hotel called as Resorts World Genting, which has more than 2000 rooms for the visitors. Unfortunately, because of the season I was not able to get a  room in the same. So stayed in hotel which was upside down. Generally hotel start from ground floor and then subsequent positive floors i.e. G,1,2,3.... My hotel(AWANA RESORTS), as it was located on hill doesn't have any 1st floor, which was strange, it started from ground floor(which was located on top of the hill) and the subsequent floors were in negative i.e. down on the hill. Genting Highlands is accessible by roads ways and also through cable car. I think going by cable car is the best as you can see the beauty of nature on the go, as you elevate up in cable car.
Up on the hill, there is big amusement park with loads of indoor and outdoor swings. They also have some stage shows running all day long. In addition to these things, one thing that surprised me was White Lion, which they have. Before this, I never heard that White Lion also exists. To watch white lion, one has to pay a huge amount, for which I didn't go.

In short, visiting Malaysia was wonderful. One area where I faced problem was FOOD. In Malaysia, the natives they just eat sea food. I totally agree that sea food is delicious, but not the way Malay's eat. For me it was smelly.
